Helping You Achieve Academic Success

About Thesis Services

Thesis Services is based in England in the United Kingdom (UK) and is run by Col, who is a native English speaker.

Thesis Services: Mission Statement

To provide quality proofreading, editing, rewriting and related services for students and academic authors that suit individual needs, help writers overcome barriers and achieve academic success, and provide client satisfaction.

Helping You Achieve Academic Success

I've been involved in academia for decades with most of my work being on theses, dissertations, journal articles, academic books and related documents, and I've helped many achieve academic success. My relevant experience and various qualifications (see below) provide a strong background for this work, which is always tailored to your personal needs. Also, Thesis Services is run by an individual (hence early booking advised) so offers one-to-one bespoke academic services.

Background Experience And Qualifications

I've previously worked as a lecturer, teacher and tutor (e.g. with students who have barriers to learning), then as an editor and author of academic learning resources/software used in educational institutions across the world, and as a report writer. My formal academic qualifications include a BA and MAs, I've engaged in various related professional development training (e.g. proofreading, editing and writing), and I have further qualifications in assessing learners, creative writing, counselling, technical communication and teaching (e.g. English skills, mathematics skills and a Cambridge CELTA Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults, which helps my work with students who have English as a second/other language).

"I think you are a great teacher – thanks for your help."

Why Supervisors Recommend Me To Students

Simply because supervisors have noticed the difference in their students' work before and after working with me. They also know I work with supervisors' suggestions but will point out any that need possible further discussions (between the student and supervisor).

"My supervisor, Professor ______, advised me to contact you regarding my thesis ..."

Student's Initial Approach

Furthermore, supervisors are aware of my bespoke services for students who have barriers to learning, those who have English as a second/other language and many who experience specific problems with thesis writing. Thus, supervisors know, from experience, that when their students work with me their individual needs are met.

"I have obtained your contact details from ______. Your service has been highly recommended by both ______ and my supervisor."

Student's Initial Approach

How It Works

There are generally four stages to the work:

  1. We discuss the work; you share any problems, issues and points (e.g. supervisor comments).
  2. I assess the document; we agree on the service(s) provided and the price, which you then pay.
  3. I work on your document (track changes, comments, queries, prompts, etc.). If necessary, we attend matters arising and/or you share reasonable additional points/thoughts you have.
  4. You work through the returned document then ask any reasonable queries; we then complete the work.

Of course, an individual's work may require or benefit from tweaks to this process and/or additional elements.
